Modernt liv till gammalt hus

Modern life for an old house

The small rental car winds its way up narrow roads, and after 25 minutes we finally land outside Villa Son Font. From the parking lot, the house looks like a quiet old man, and it is hard to imagine that the other side of the house will soon offer a majestic view. The villa that was bought by a Danish couple and renovated with great flair. It is also rented out to families and groups who want to vacation more privately but with all the comforts.

The pool is not heated in winter but Palma's warm rays warm it up quickly from April to October.

A long stone staircase from the house leads down to the pool area.

"Villa Son Font is a social gentleman with large areas to socialize outdoors, it is set up for lazy days by the pool, long dinners on the terrace and we realize that it is easy to live here."

Renovating a villa remotely is easier said than done. But we think the owners have treated the villa with respect and kept the character of the house. Details such as the beautiful old stone stairs, the plastered walls and the fact that they worked with interior design that feels more organic and at home are clear signs that the house feels modern and old at the same time.

The house's four bedrooms all have their own toilet, and although we understand that you don't go to Villa Son Font to sit there, we are attracted by the almost-staying-at-a-hotel feeling and enjoy not having to queue to pee. Luxury indeed.
