Nathalie works as a police officer but is also active in crossfit. Her training account @runastory on Instagram is filled with educational and good training tips for everyone.

Hi Nathalie! Before we talk about your training, we just have to comment on your floor (reasonably). Tell me how you did? Is it real concrete? Is it difficult to achieve? Tell me everything!
Haha so my floor is more interesting, I get the point 😉 No, but I'm also in love with the floor. We had looked at running microcement floors in the house but were a little discouraged when we heard that it can be a little sensitive. Because there was a concrete slab under the wooden floor, we decided instead to bring in a company that had to grind the concrete. It was a gamble, we had no idea what the existing concrete slab looked like or what condition it was in. The company we hired warned us that there could be large cracks in it, but the result was just as vibrant as we wanted it to be .

"After this kitchen renovation, we have learned that everything takes twice as long as expected"

Now, you might think we're ignoring this part of your training, but we'll get to that in a moment. First we have to find out what happened to Hillevi's little fingers.
The little fighter, she fell and caught herself with her hands on a lava rock, you know the kind you cook on that gets several hundred degrees hot. Everything happened so fast. We were in the mountains so it was a scooter down to a waiting ambulance and straight to the emergency room to treat her burns. She is such a fighter, even though she was in so much pain from the blisters, she played and laughed for days afterwards. Now we hope that the healing goes well and that she has not lost sensation in her fingers.

We can really relate, there is nothing worse than when the kids have accidents. How did you take it? Considering that you both work as police officers and have been involved in many accidents and may be used to it?
It's something completely different when it happens in private. Both me and Daniel (Hillevi's father) were absolutely devastated to see her in so much pain, but we held it together for her sake. The day after the accident, when Hillevi showed joy and could laugh again, I broke down in tears. It was only then that we ourselves could feel it and it dawned on us what had happened and what could have happened

We are so happy that it went relatively well. Hope the blisters go away as quickly as they came <3

In the book There is, among other things, a notice where you can tell about all the "OJ & AJ" the child has been part of. Order the book here .

Hillevi burned himself on a 400 degree hot lava rock but is fine today.

"I listen to the body and adjust weights accordingly."

We have so much we want to talk about (the kitchen renovation, for example), but we need to hear a little about your training. Are you training the same as before? And what about the environment, we can imagine that there are many likers who come forward and give "advice" when you stand with your stomach and lift a barbell?
Haha yes my God, giving general advice to pregnant women must still be seen as a national sport in Sweden. However, I would like to emphasize that I do not train as usual, I listen to the body/form of the day and adapt exercises/weights accordingly. It is not now that I am going to set personal records, but I am convinced that the training now gives me better conditions for recovery after childbirth.

Why is it important for you to exercise?
Exercise is a large part of my everyday life, it is a great interest and therefore it has been natural to continue even during the pregnancies. The training makes me feel strong both mentally and physically. If I don't train, I won't be a funny person 😆 I am humbled by the fact that not everyone can keep up, everyone has different pregnancies and different conditions as a pregnant woman. It is a blessing that I felt so well during both pregnancies and was therefore able to train all the way.

Do you have any tips for us couch potatoes (those of us who can exercise but can't)?
Train with people you feel good about. Working out with others is more fun and it's easier to get away when you have to meet someone you like. Crossfit is fantastic in that way, you can train together regardless of level. It is always possible to adapt to your own abilities.

Thank you, Nathalie (and Hillevi), for letting us visit! If we want to see more of your home and get motivated to exercise, where should we turn? Shall we stand outside your window and wait for you in or do you prefer something else?
Although it would be nice to have an audience outside the window, it might be easier to pick up the mobile phone and click on my Instagram . I update as often as life allows and the desire exists.
